
The Planning Department regulates, guides and coordinates physical and spatial development within the district in line with the Regional, Town and Country Planning Act [Chapter 29:12] and the Rural District Councils Act [Chapter 29:13]. It covers physical planning, development control, survey & mapping, building control, advisory & coordination and project facilitation.
Assessment of subdivision, consolidation, change of use and rezoning applications.
Processing planning approvals, permits and enforcement of planning regulations.
Cadastral surveys, pegging of stands and production of maps and GIS data.
Vetting building plans, issuing permits and inspecting construction stages.
