
The Natural Resources and Conservation Department promotes conservation of natural resources and environmental protection for sustainable development. It leads environmental education and awareness, coordinates the CAMPFIRE programme, manages veld fires, waste, mining and poaching issues, promotes climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction, issues hunting, fishing and sand-extraction permits, and coordinates problem-animal management and human-wildlife conflict responses.
